We ambled through the forest,
Footsteps quiet as the night;
Shadows haunted the scenery,
As we waited for the light.

The Earth is a beautiful home that cares for us like no other. In return, we have to give it the same love that the Earth gives us. This is the basic premise of ‘Dear Earth’ by Avvaiyar. The poem is like a plea that one can not escape. The author showcases a pen’s power in only 25 words. The poem provides for hours of thinking after the first read. The illustrations done by Murali Nagaphuza complement the piece beautifully and are enticing.
Imagine a bright and sunny day,
And you are imagining your way;
Now, here comes the disturbance,
Some questions, which make no sense.
Animals controlling farms,
Lions going to the barber;
The artist within me can make me laugh,
And take me to places even farther.
As a kid, she was always teased. As a grown-up, she was always underestimated. Her teachers were proud of her creative work but her classmates were always jealous. Her books were beautiful, but she wasn’t given a chance to publish them. Yes, this is the story of all of J.K Rowling’s adventures.

‘Days With Thathu’ is an absolute gem of a picture book. The whimsical story paired with the simplistic writing style and Shel Silverstien reminiscent illustrations creates a beautiful tale exploring the bond between grandparent and child. Perfect for young children, this book is sure to be on the bedtime reading list for a long time to come.

Dear Mango,
I hope this letter finds you in a “ripe” state of health. I had visited your home earlier, to get a bar of chocolate, and happened to catch a glimpse of you. As always, the sight of you got me salivating, and I started thinking of ways to use (aka eat) you.
