What with social distancing, being cooped up in the house, restricted physical activity, the palpable stress of parents and caregivers, the kids have been affected like never before.
Hence, it is imperative that their minds are occupied and energies are channeled in a healthy and positive manner. This is precisely the reason why at BTB we have been using unconventional methodologies and holistic approach to build confidence in children and raise a more perceptive and artistic generation. “The Canine Chronicles” is a humorous, entertaining and heart-warming tale written from the point of view of Aryan, a lovable black 6-year-old Labrador ‘guppy’ or ‘grown-up puppy’. The book focuses on how he spends his days in the Covid-19 Lockdown with his family of four, his conversations with his best friend and neighbour guppy Priyamvada or ‘Pri’, and includes anecdotes from the point of view of ‘Papa’ – Aryan’s human dad.

You would feel as if you are sitting in a storytelling session which is deep, enriching and profound. The special guest is none other than Padma Shri Geeta Dharmarajan. She is a writer, editor, educator and the Founder and President of Katha, a nonprofit organisation that she founded in 1988. In spite of being a go-getter and someone through whose journey we can learn so much, the enthusiasm in her voice is so childlike and infectious that you can’t remain un-enamoured.
Gatila is a black cow who has low self-esteem due to her black colour. She does find an unconventional, easy way to ‘make’ herself pretty by painting herself in different colours. The story is about whether she finds happiness and satisfaction with a new colour or ends up loving herself the way she is.
