Plot Summary

This story is about two kids named Aarav (aged 10) and Raghu (aged 8) and their pet bird,Robo who is a cross between a sparrow and a parrot. Aarav and Raghu, with the help of their uncle Tendulkar and pet Robo, solve mysterious cases like that of Mr. Rotkar who sells drugs and pours green pigment in a lake, the mirchi gang that is trying to smuggle temple idols to other countries and the bald man who tries to steal paintings.

My Review

There are three stories in one book which have been penned by the author, Laxmi Natraj, is an engaging manner. Each story carries with it dollops of suspense and thrill till the end. Usually in novels like these,  we are clueless about what is in store for us in the next chapter, but in this one the author gives us a small hint about it at the end of each chapter which I liked. It does not take away from the suspense element but also raises the curiosity of the readers. I also loved the characters in the book and their names, such as Robo the bird (special breed with good IQ levels and hero of the book) , Uncle Tito (Tendulkar), Lambu and Chinnu, and Grandma in the palace. The scenes are quite evocative and one can visualize the proceedings clearly. I was hooked throughout.

Final Verdict

Reading all the three mystery stories is a thrilling experience. You will end up reading this book again and again. My only complaint is that you cannot put it down!
