The page turns, my heart flutters
As words fly and grammar stutters.
The perfect example of a writer’s year.
I peered at the synonyms of a wonderful year,
As my typewriter pauses and my brain stops to think,
A jet of ink squirts up to soothe my skin.
My smile widens as I ponder the adjectives to describe my last year.
Bookish… some might remark,
Nerdy… some might stop to say,
Erudite… some might raise a brow,
Perfect… some might smile and wave,
But to me, the year’s been a blast,
Full of words that shine and shimmer
Numerous stories with many vowels and many a letter
This year’s been the perfect time,
Perhaps the next shall be even better!
