An Idiom Party

I was as busy as a bee,
But then my brother started to iron my head.
I just hoped he wouldn’t spill the beans,
I sat silently, filled with dread.

I had organized Mom’s surprise party,
Though it was raining cats and dogs.
I made the best of my resources, simple and crafty –
Mom was snug as a bug in her rug.

She had no clue what awaited her.
My sister got this idea a few days ago,
And she put a bug in my ear.
Now I was putting it together.

It was time to wake Mom.
I told my brother to hold his horses.
He was hyper and almost exploded like a bomb.
I brought out the cake and a bouquet of roses.

My mom has a heart of gold.
Today, we celebrate her because she is the center of our world.
