Book Review – Kuhu Learns To Deal With Life

Kuhu Learns to Deal with Life is a fun and relatable story to read. I liked how the book shows that even younger children face many struggles in life, such as joining a new school, getting bullied, feeling left out because of siblings, and even dealing with an evil PE teacher. The story is about Kuhu experiencing all these situations and learning and growing from them.

I think it is a light-hearted read for younger children, and many of them would be able to relate to it.

One of my favourite parts was when Kuhu plays with her sister after being instructed to watch her for a few minutes. It was a heartfelt scene that showed Kuhu slowly starting to bond with her baby sister. I also liked the scene where Kuhu goes for the interview at her new school. She is quizzed on different topics to decide whether she will get admission, and she meets a friend from her previous school. While her friend answers all the questions in seconds, Kuhu struggles, which makes the scene very realistic.

Kuhu is also a little mischievous, like the time she escapes running laps during her horrible PE class. At the same time, she is kind and caring towards her family and friends. This is especially seen when her mother gives birth to her baby sister and is feeling unwell. Throughout the story, Kuhu learns how to overcome challenges in her life with the help of the people around her.

Overall, this book was an entertaining and lively read. Author Sonia Dogra presents Kuhu’s journey in a simple and engaging way, making it easy for young readers to connect with the story and its emotions.
