Write-A-Thon Season 2 Story – Group 2 (Adults)

Vedant was tired to the bone and the heat was only adding fuel to the fire, both literally and figuratively. He stretched out and sighed after a long day of work. He had a sudden urge to finish off the tub of butterscotch ice-cream he had safely tucked deep into the freezer the previous night. When he opened the refrigerator, he was shocked. There was a letter on the ice-cream tub that read – “Vedant, are you alone at home? I am on my way – GET READY. Actually, I have eaten half of our favourite butterscotch ice-cream. Hope you are not too mad at me for this. I feel you are still connected to our memories. I will be right in front of you in just a few minutes. A surprise for you! – Yours Vedhansha.”

God’s Favourite Messenger

Once there was a  poor girl waiting for a train in the station. When the train came, she got into it. Sometime later, Johnson, a passenger found something fishy with the girl.

He checked and found the girl near the washroom, and also heard a whisper of her evil laughter. When he looked at the  mirror, it was foggy, and he couldn’t see her face. The girl was laying her head down. She had a red light coming from her eyes which spooked Johnson. At another time, the girl wasn’t sleeping. Instead, she was chanting something. He found out that the girl was a ghost.

On the track of imagination

Elina wore her prettiest gown decorated with laces and frills and waited at the station on the snowy evening. It was the night of the Christmas Eve. A toy train soon arrived and stopped at the empty station. A gentle voice greeted her and said, “Hi Elina, I will take you to a world of imagination moving on the track. It will stay in this station until you discover your goal. There are thousands of books for you to explore. Leave a book from your own collection, which will help someone else like you take a journey and get transported to another world of pure and innocent imagination.”

Book Review – My Act Of Heart

Book Title – My Act Of Heart

Author – Various

Ideated & Curated By – Anjali G Sharma & Deepika Ahuja

Recommended Age – 7+ years

Ideated and Curated by Anjali G Sharma and Deepika Ahuja, My Act Of Heart is an anthology of stories written by children from around the globe which bring to fore the virtues of compassion and generosity towards everyone, irrespective of genders and races. The stories included in this book are heartwarming and at times quite funny as well! Majority of the plots in the book are of a child or a group of children (for the most part friends) who either go somewhere where they observe someone in need, or chance upon something or someone they can help. Whatever be the case, the children in question choose to act on the scenario and with the consent of their parents or grandparents, help those in need. Now, if every single story was about helping a human, we could get pretty bored reading the book after a point. But what makes this book interesting throughout are the varied acts of compassion which are each unique. The book manages to keep the reader engaged and wanting to know what is coming next.
